There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal.

— George Gordon Byron

It seems our neighborhood offers more to enjoy the nature than I thought. This afternoon, I decided to have a walk to Opicina. But instead of taking the normal route, I took a new trail. This trail goes even high on the mountains. So this time I had nice panoramic views of Trieste from the top. The road was almost empty.

Then somehow I reached a road through the woods. This part was most beautiful. There was a nice breeze, and the wood was quite deep. I liked the place. I clicked the above pic there. There were some narrow walking trails into the deep woods as well, probably linking the cross-country trails.

Finally it was downhill, and I reached the highway on the other side which connects Opicina to Trebiciano. From there, I had to walk less than a kilometer to reach Opicina. Well it was all nice and surprising; I enjoyed the enchanting walk.
