Hiking the Valley of Flowers

It is an enchanting valley at the higher reaches of Indian Himalayas (Garwal, Uttarakhand). The valley spreads over 7-8 kilometer and at an altitude of about 3,500 meter. It is monsoon time, lots of rain, lots of land slides, but once we reached the valley it was close to heaven. The valley was full of flowers, hundreds of different kinds and colors. The valley was filled with a scent, it was protected by mountains with snow caps on their top all around the valley. And these melting snows produced numerous water falls, though they were ice cold. There were also birds, some small animals and bees. It was one of most beautiful places I have ever visited.
